Maple Leaf Sports + Entertainment takes part in SPEED digital signage training

• 05 Feb 2010

Maple Leaf Sports + Entertainment, an APEX Award finalist in the Stadium/Arenas category, used the “SPEED” Digital Signage Training Program to deliver its highly successful project in under nine months.

Maple Leaf Sports + Entertainment manages the Air Canada Center, which hosts the MBA Toronto Raptors, NHL Toronto Maple Leafs and up to 200 concerts and special events annually. The highly successful project has been applauded by executive management, NBA and NHL league officials, patrons, sponsors and staff.

The project started with a “SPEED” training session presented by Lyle Bunn for project stakeholders in mid January and was fully operational in early September, with 325 displays using 16 media channels.

"The SPEED program was flexible enough to allow us to focus on what we thought was important at the time,” said Dwayne R.  Brown, manager, Venue Services, Maple Leaf Sports +Entertainment. “We found that it really helped us organize our own plan and we've made better informed decisions as a result. My advice is to do the program early on in the process to come up with a well rounded approach to your digital signage project."

“Training establishes a common point of reference for organizations launching digital signage projects,” said Lyle Bunn, who created and has delivered the SPEED program to more than 1,100 people.

“SPEED” is offered as a supplementary program on Feb. 23, 1-5 P.M., at Digital Signage Expo.

The 2010 Apex Awards will be presented at a special awards banquet slated for the opening night of DSE 2010 on Wednesday, February 24, in Las Vegas.
